Sue Phalen, one of the preenters, serves as a Certified SCORE Mentor and has been volunteering at SCORE for almost 15 years. At SCORE, Sue combines her industry experience and her training in marketing and sales to help small businesses. Sue is also a member of the of the SCORE Team working on the Small Business Disaster Resilience Initiative partnered with the Texas Division of Emergency Management. She has a BS Economics from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Elizabeth Charles, the other presenter, is an Outreach and Marketing Specialist for the U.S. Small Business Administration in the Houston District Office. Prior to joining the SBA, Elizabeth was a small business counselor for the Women’s Business Center Rio Grande Valley where she assisted in increasing the number of successful women-owned small businesses by accelerating their growth. Elizabeth obtained her double Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from the University of Texas at Brownsville and received her Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. Elizabeth has been able to put her degrees to work with demonstrated success in the non-profit, healthcare, academia, private and government sectors throughout her career.
