This seminar is for small businesses interested in gaining insight on how to apply for a small business loan and what information and documentation are needed. As well as those small businesses interested in learning how to position their businesses to take advantage of opportunities and to maintain business continuity.
LaShaunda P. René (LPR), Vice President, Managing Director Texas for TruFund Financial Services a National Non-profit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), certified by the US Treasury. LaShaunda is responsible for Texas market operations, including being a brand ambassador, overseeing and expanding programming, and resource development. LPR has over 17 years of professional experience working in the non-profit and government sectors.
She is a graduate of International Business and French Studies from Dillard University and holds a Master of Public Administration from Walden University. LaShaunda is a member of the Houston Business Ecosystem Alliance for Minority and Women-Owned Businesses (BEAM-W).

As a Business Development Officer with TruFund Financial Services, Samuel Fuentes, brings to the North Texas and DFW markets over 15 years of experience in the financial service industry. He has over a decade serving disadvantaged, minority communities in roles that provided individual financial advising, and business banking. He has helped both individuals and businesses obtain the level of financial literacy they needed to reach the next level.
He enjoys spending quality time with his wife and three children. They are outdoor enthusiasts. He believes that a close-knit family is vital for living a happy life. His other passions include returning to his alma mater, the University of Texas, to enjoy sporting events with old friends.
