How I Can Help You

I have broad experience in leading both small and large organizations, with a background that includes marketing, sales and general management. I have participated in start-ups and led the fastest growing company in history, growing from $0 to over $10 billion in 4 1/2 years. I left full time employment in 2002. Since that time, I have participated and led Boards of Directors of both for profit and not for profit organizations domestically and world-wide. I have also consulted with a number of start-ups in businesses ranging from biotechnology to alternative fuels. My business experience includes consumer packaged goods, technology, and telecommunications. At Procter Gamble, I became a Brand Manager in a short time, eventually responsible for the Companys largest brand. At General Electric, I started a new business and eventually led three businesses within the Consumer Electronics Group. At AT T, I was able to turn around multiple business units, bringing profitability to these units for the first time in their history. I late invented new businesses for GE, including one that won "Product of the Year" from Popular Science. I started a new business for Octel and later helped start Sprint PCS, which became the fastest growing Company in business history. I eventually became the President of Sprint PCS, and retired from that position. In 1999, I was named Marketer of the Year by Marketing Communications magazine, and in 2001, was named CEO of the year by Frost Sullivan/ New York Times. In addition to my business experience, I participate in a number of not-for-profit organizations. For example, I helped lead the team that crafted the first Operating Agreement with California State Parks, enabling Jack London State Park to be managed by a not-for-profit organization. Since we took the Park from the State in 2012, attendance has more than doubled. Volunteered have more than quadrupled, and while our budget is approximately 3 times what the State used to spend on the Park, we have shown a surplus every year, compared to the State, which lost money every year. I have also participated in multiple not-for-profit equestrian groups and am the Vice Chairman of an adult education not-for-profit.
