 I advise on retail store operations, sales & marketing, advertising, and record keeping. Mike owned and managed specialty sports retail stores with 3 or 4 full time employees and 25 part time employees in each store.  His stores offered scuba diving, snow skiing, and swimming lessons, equipment, clothing, and group travel.  He trained employees, wrote lesson plans for Scuba classes, coordinated merchandise purchasing and distribution, planned and coordinated marketing, advertising, operations, sales, and record keeping for four stores.  Mike was named Retailer of the Year by the scuba trade association NASDS in 1998.  Over the course of 32 years he bought three businesses and sold three businesses.  Mike is a writer and photographer and has been published in many salt water fishing magazines.

Mike attended the University of Houston before purchasing his first business. He learned how to successfully run a business by taking classes from Rice University, UH, trade associations, fellow retailers, and by reading books.
